Evergreen

I want the sun
To shine the same way everyday
Hung in the sky in the same place
Without changing
An august breeze stuck in the trees
With limbs like the neighbors' arms
All fixed midwave
Their hands like broken timepieces
Not reaching out to me menacingly
While one lone dot waits on all of our screens
I want the world to be Evergreen

I want my heart
To have the same weight everyday
Thoth and I will know what
To be expecting
I'm motioned past
My die was cast and traits assigned
Scaled from 3 to 18
This list resists all outside force
And moral torques are in static equilibrium
I want my world to be Evergreen

Living:
The salient deceleration
Would be enough of an affront
Were it not also inflicted on
Everyone you love

Living:
The transient humiliation
Would be obtrusive enough
Were it not rendered in the faces of
Everyone you love

So if there's somebody to blame
Then won't you show me?
Won't you scream into the sky
Make them live slowly
You make them live slowly

Living:
The cognizant disintegration
Would be repugnant enough
Were its accrued losses
Not crudely scrawled across
The ones you love

So if a consciousness does this
Then won't you show me
Won't you scream into the sky
Make them live slowly

And my phantom limbs wave goodbye
Like they'd owned me
Can't they sign into the sky
Make them live slowly
You make them live slowly
